The West Coast region of the Western Cape is one of the most underrated areas near Cape Town, full of natural beauty and rich history it is a true hidden gem and defnitley worth a visit. On the West coast tour we leave Cape Town and drive in a North westerly direction, we pass through the seaside towns of Bloubergstrand and Big Bay, while enjoying the views of Table Mountain and Robben Island We keep heading North west, to the historic mission town of Mamre, where we get to learn more about the local history. We proceed to Darling and the famous Evita’s perron for a look at the museum and to grab a koeksister and a coffee. After a lovely break in Darling, the West Coast tour makes its way to Yzerfontein, a fishing village that offers the perfect viewing point for seasonal whale watching, before continuing to the West Coast National Park. This idyllic park is known for its birds and springtime blooms of yellow daisies. We have a lunch ( own cost) at Geelbek restaurant in the park . We depart the national park and continue to the !Khwa ttu San Education center. Here we can learn about the San people who have long populated the area. And then its back to Cape Town after a great taste of the West Coast. West coast tour runs every week from Monday to Saturday.
